Privacy Policy

Castle operates with a deep respect for the digital privacy of its users across the Indian subcontinent. As the digital landscape in India shifts towards more robust protections under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), Castle remains committed to a "Privacy-First" approach. This document outlines how we manage data for our Android-based ecosystem, including Android Mobile, Android TV, and Firestick hardware.

1. Compliance With Indian Data Regulations

Our data processing activities are governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the newly enacted DPDP Act, 2023.Castle acts as a Data Fiduciary for the minimal technical metadata required to maintain its Search Index and Information Location Tools. We ensure that our data handling practices meet global security benchmarks while remaining rooted in Indian legal requirements.

2. Minimalist Data Collection Strategy

Castle does not believe in invasive data harvesting. We only capture non-personally identifiable information (non-PII) to ensure the app functions correctly across different Android hardware configurations.

The specific data points we monitor include:

Technical Identifiers: Device model (e.g., Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus), Android OS version, and screen resolution.

Connectivity Stats: Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and approximate city-level location to optimize regional content delivery.

Application Logs: Search queries and watch history, which are used purely for local synchronization so you can continue watching where you left off.

Performance Metrics: Crash reports and loading speeds to help our engineers improve the APK performance.

Zero-Sensitivity Policy: Castle strictly avoids the collection of sensitive data. We never ask for, store, or process your Aadhaar number, PAN details, banking credentials, or biometric information.

3. Transparency In Advertising

Castle is a free-to-use platform supported by third-party advertising. To maintain the service, we integrate with industry-standard ad networks such as Google AdMob.

These networks use anonymous device IDs to serve advertisements that are relevant to your interests.

These advertisements support our role as a Neutral Content Aggregator, allowing us to maintain a free search index for regional cinema and live sports.

Users can control or reset their "Advertising ID" within their Android system settings to limit personalized ad tracking.

4. PC Usage Via Android Emulators

Castle is not a native Windows or macOS application. To access our services on a PC, the use of an Android Emulator (e.g., BlueStacks or LDPlayer) is strictly mandatory.

In these cases, Castle’s data collection is restricted to the virtualized environment of the emulator.

We do not have access to your host PC's file system, personal documents, or browser history.

This policy ensures that your desktop environment remains isolated and secure.

5. User Rights And Data Control

Under Indian law, you possess the right to manage your digital footprint. Castle provides built-in tools to facilitate this:

History Management: You can clear your search and watch history at any time within the app settings.

Data Deletion: If you wish to request a total wipe of any data associated with your device ID, you may contact our support team.

Access Rights: You have the right to know what data we hold, which is why we maintain this transparent policy.

6. Grievance Redressal

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, we have established a formal grievance mechanism to address data privacy and content indexing concerns. If you have any concerns regarding data privacy or find any content-related issues, please contact our Grievance Officer.

Contact Method: Please reach out through the "Contact Us" portal on our official website.

Timeline: We acknowledge all grievances within 24 hours and aim for full resolution within 15 days, as per Indian statutory requirements.
